Take it slow and easy - beautiful views to take in. Gorgeous day trip hiking
A really cool place to see some Roman ruins. Theres an old port that can be seen in the picture. A small beach to enjoy the water and the rocks is a hidden gem and almost always empty if you're looking for a quiet serene place for the day. If you walk up the trails to the top of the cliffs, more Roman Villas can be found along the coastline. A really cool places to relax and be immersed in a piece of history.
I read the nice comments about this place and decided to take my family there, unfortunately the place is dirty with poor care and the are no signs explaining the area and if there are they are so old you cannot even read them. The powder area were once restructured but now they are full of garbage and undergroth. Its a pitty such a beautiful place has become the rubbish area of everyone.
Lovely peaceful walking with great views. Just was the feral cats if you have a dog as they will attack if you get too close.
It's a lovely and quite place, along the Coast of Thyrrhenian Sea!
Not much look at!
Brick oven pizza ....Outstanding

After visiting the split mountain and the Turk's cave, we took a "batteries and powder magazines" trail. We had a nice walk in the middle of nature between panoramic and historical points. We recommend it if you are a nature lover and want to give yourself some time for reflection. Quiet and clean place.
The Riviera di Ulisse regional park, located in the southern part of the Lazio Region, extends along the coast of the Gulf of Gaeta and includes the territories of the protected areas falling within the municipalities of Gaeta, Formia, Minturno, Itri and Sperlonga:
Mount Orlando (Gaeta)
regional park of Gianola and Monte di Scauri (Formia and Minturno)
promontory of the Villa of Tiberius and Torre Capovento - Punta Cetarola (Sperlonga)
Environments
From a naturalistic point of view, the various cliffs of Monte Orlando, in Gaeta, are interesting, high rock walls overlooking the sea, where the peregrine falcon nests. The coast is sometimes covered by Mediterranean scrub which has some rare species here. At various points on the coast it is possible to admire magnificent panoramas: the eye wanders in views that go from the Circeo to the Vesuvius passing through the Pontine Islands.
The seabed offers an incredible variety of colors with anemones, fish of numerous species, nudibranchs, corals and parazoanthidae.
Interesting sites
Among the numerous points of interest, we remember:
The Montagna Spaccata and the Grotta del Turco, the mausoleum of Lucio Munazio Planco, the fortifications of various eras within the Monte Orlando area (Gaeta).
The archaeological museum and the villa of Emperor Tiberius in Sperlonga, together with the route of the ancient Via Flacca.
The Roman cisterns, the baths, the nymphaeum known as the temple of Janus, the terraces overlooking the sea, the fishpond and the archaeological remains of the sumptuous villa from the 1st century BC. of the rich knight Mamurra in Gianola (Formia).
So many things to see... it takes time and desire to walk... of what I saw, I can say a great show and quite well kept... Thank God (parts of a wonderful Italy!) 👍🏖🖐🌞 🙏😀🚗
